Fraserburgh Harbour is the most successful port in the UK in terms of nephrops landings. A nephrops auction became operational in December 2007. It has two of the most up to date markets in the UK, both completely chilled capable of maintaining a temperature of +1 degree centigrade. This allows the landing of fish over a 24 hour period, 7 days a week with the fish being kept in prime condition for the sales that take place at a later period.

Sale times on Monday to Friday inclusive commence at 0730 hours and vessels intending to land must report in by 0730 hours arriving before 0900 hours. Saturday sales commence at 0700 hours and vessels intending to land must be within the harbour by 0600 hours, although a second sale can be arranged ` depending on demand.TODAYS LANDING PRICES The Market covers 2092 square metres, can handle 6000 boxes daily and there are power points at No 2 Market to allow vessels to use their own freezing facility.

Fraserburgh Harbour and Bay are designated and approved pelagic landing areas. Large quantities of herring and mackerel are landed during the season with demand coming from local processors as well as continental buyers.

Transportation from local hauliers, fuel, water and ice are always available.
